Season 1, Bonus Bene: "Eve Adams"

Doris: [00:00:02] Hello listeners.

[Instrumental theme music begins and quietly underscores the dialogue.]

Doris Anderson here. I hope you all will give my episode 3 a listen! It’s coming out very soon!

In the meantime, please enjoy this brief between episodes bene!

Well guess what? “The New York Times” has a new series titled “Overlooked”. This is a printing of obituaries about amazing people whose deaths – since 1851 to the present, went unreported in The Times.

I was very excited to see thy published an obituary of Eve Adams, who in 1925 published a collection of short stories and illustrations titled, “Lesbian Love”.

And industrious gal, she ran Eve’s Hangout, a lesbian friendly tearoom where she hosted salons and poetry readings from 1924 to 1926 in Greenwich Village.

Get a blast from a century past from this better-late-than-never obituary, written by Emily Palmer. A link can be found in the show notes.

Thanks a lot. Bye.

[Instrumental theme music swells and fades out.]
